Grrr !!! Lost Post

Just wrote a long post and lost it ... Aggrrr !!!
So sorry, it's now 12:18am Friday 24, 2010. It's too late for me to rewrite it :-(

I'll try later to get all those lost word back in my head and onto a post ...
I'm upset 'cause I know next one won't be as good at the first draft. And it's so hard for me to finally get typing ... To loose it all is VERY frustrating to say the least !!!

Just in case: it was about needing help understanding how to create and manage a website.
I'm down and under with this new enterprise of mine: creating a website.
So if you have a website and know of great SUPER EASY to understand tutorials, videos, books, anything and everything to help, PLEASE SHARE !!!

Who has a Mac ??? :: Miscellaneous Wednesday

I'm asking this question because I have one and at time I get really frustrated !!!

One great thing about a Mac is that it seams that it doesn't get all those viruses, worms and other disabilitating things a PC tent to catch ...

But on the other hand it make it hard to find cool thing to play with ...

I find that a lot of programs don't operate with an iOS system and most softwares are not compatible with MAC ... !!!
I often find myself growling in frustration when I find-out I can NOT do something because of this issue: AhhGrrr ... !!!

I guess that even if I've converted to an Apple product almost 4 years ago, I'm still a MAC illiterate ... !!!

So, is it time to activate my one-on-one class subscription with Apple or should I switch back to a PC ???

How Did This All Started :: Miscellaneous Wednesday

I started blogging a while back not knowing what blogging was all about ...

At the time, I just wanted to have a journal that I could share with family and friends.
I started with Window Live. I had it looking cool and all ... I had up-loaded pictures and videos, wrote a few posts ...
But it wasn't much fun to do all that work and have no follow-up, no feedback, no interaction ...
Then, I got a Mac and well ... it turned out that Window Live wasn't compatible with my new laptop ... Of course !!!
I quickly lost interest.
In addition, I'm not much of a writer. You see, I have all those thoughts bottled-up in my head but when it's time to put them in writing, all goes blank ...
So, needless to say that I gave it up :-(

Then, MySpace came along and Hi5 ...
I tried those social networks but plain didn't like them, specially MySpace !!!

I kept checking things out on the world While Web ... and came to realize that what I really wanted was not only write a journal (which I'm still not able to do, at least regularly) ... What I was ultimately looking for by sharing those thoughts (if I could ever put then down in writing) is to SOCIALIZE, INTERACT, ...
But how to d just that ???

And along came the movie "Julie & Julia": the answer to my question ... BLOGGING !!! Because really, beside the homage to Julia Child, it was all about blogging, wasn't it ???

It took me a while before I jumped in and got started ... I was a little overwhelmed by everything surrounding "blogging" !!! I felt like: oh boy, oh boy, did I open a can of worms or what ???
I mean, GEE !!! Can it be more complex or what ???
- Choose a platform: Blogger, WordPress, ...
- Choose a blog design ...
- Choose a niche ...
A niche ??? But wait, it was supposed to only be a simple journal writing and sharing !!! A niche ??? Why would I need one ???
All went up in the air into a big tornado of Q & A, information, confusion ...

When it finally passed and everything settled, I was left with 2 blogs, 1 Twitter account, not enough time, a mind overflowing with thoughts that I still couldn't really put in writing, ...
A MESS !!!

But this time, I wasn't about to give up because ... Well !!! I was ADDICTED !!! ... Yes, as contradicting as it sounds, I AM HOOKED !!!
I still need to learn how to get those darn thoughts in writing though :-/

"Letter To Pedestrians ..." :: Miscellaneous Wednesday

Dear Pedestrians,

Didn't your Mom and Dad ever tell you to look before you cross the road ???
I'll say double look and listen to incoming cars ...
No really !!!
Because when you decide to just pop out of no where in a middle of a turn, jump out from behind a bush or tree ... we can't promisse we'll be able to stop on time !!!

Please be aware of where you stand in relation to traffic 'cause when you cross and we are coming toward you with the rising or setting sun in our face, well ... we don't see you !!!

Or at least use the crosswalk !!!
Those were implemented for a reason: make crossing safer !!!
They have "BE CAREFUL !!! Possible pedestrian about to cross ... SLOW DOWN and BE READY TO STOP" written all over them ...

And what's up with you coming to the curb, seeing us come down the street and deciding to just go for it even if we are pretty close ???
Do you assume that because we drive a truck that it means we don't go fast and that you have all the time in the world to cross ???
Or do you really think our little truck can stop on a dime ???
WRONG !!!

Even if you are at the crosswalk, it doesn't mean you can just go and traffic will come to a stand still just for you ... specially if for some reason we didn't see you coming ... You have to give traffic a chance to see you and be able to stop ...

And talking about time, once we are securely stopped and it's clear that it's save to cross in front of us, will you PLEASE HURRY UP !!!
No really !!!
You come running out of the blue looking such in a rush ... and as soon as your feet touch the asphalt you down-shift to SLOW motion !!!
WHAT THE .... ???

Yes, please make it a snap because just like you, we have things to do and places to be ...
So, while you are in motion, get going and cross the darn road, will you ???
NOoooo, don't stop to answer this phone call or reply to this text !!!
UNBELIEVABLE !!!
REALLY ???

So for the sake of all of us, please, let's all be careful,  stay safe and be respectful to each other

News Update ...

I haven't been blogging for a while and I'm sorry ...

The last surgery did take a tow on me bigger than I would have imagine: I've been tired and with me going back to work, I'm been totally pooped by the end of the day !!!

To add to that, my Mom's Dad just passed away, leaving me in no mood to do anything but cry ...

So please excuse me for not blogging.
I try to get back in the swing of thing as soon as possible ...

Well actually, I've been recovering for yet another surgery: on my left sinus/cheek ... It was last Thursday and the following Saturday was the worst recovery day :-( But since then it's slowly getting better (refer to last post) ...

Ok, that is not a good excuse specially when surgery mean "time Off" -10 days actually- so what have I been up to you might ask ???

Through My iPhone Lens Saturday: Chocolate Chips Cookies.

This morning, I woke-up at 8:30, headed to the bathroom where I scared myself looking in the mirror !!!
Gee ... I looked like "Elephant-Woman" !!!
If only it was still Halloween !!!
But we are a week away from that weekend and I wasn't expecting to be even more swollen than yesterday ... This sight got my blood pressure to drop and back to bed I went :-/
I awoke again at 1pm in a crappy mood as my face wasn't any better. To add to my grumpiness, my dear HUBBY was having fun at my expense !!! In other time I would have laugh with him but I wasn't feeling good ...
I was in no mood nor state to switch-on my laptop and was missing on all the events, goodies, freebies of this Digital Scrapbooking Day ... Which made me even more miserable :-(
I spent my day on the couch watching FoodNetwork channel, reading emails, checking on FB and Twitter updates via my trusty iPhone ...
At the end, I was really down !!! But something had to be done. I had to move my lazy sorry ass and just had to snap out of it ...
So up I got and in the kitchen I went to try my hand at making some fresh Chocolate Chips Cookies for the first time ;-)

I haven't been posting on Friday for quite a while but I did my little goods: have you ???
I continued participating in the Breast Cancer Awareness Month by buying "pink".
I donated some food to "The Nice Person Who Take Care Of The Cats" (refer to this past post). Also, I successfully got a a driver if a black car registered in Nevada to put his headlights ON - which is a whole story in it's own.

Unfortunately, I won't be writing much more as I'm not feeling so great. I'm recovering from yesterday surgery and my blood pressure today is very low, leaving me feeling dizzy, weak, lightheaded ...
My misery is summarized by this picture below ...

Chewing hurts ... I can't drink without drooling like a French bulldog :-(
Can you believe I need a straw to drink me coffee ??? {{Ugh}}

Anyhow, all will be better really soon !!!
Mean while keep on doing some good ;-)

He was lost, lonely and SO sad !!!

He got out of his hiding place .... And begged me to take him with me ...

How can you say NO to SUCH a cute face ???
So I put him in my tool-belt pouch ... and off we went.

Back to my truck, I introduced my new rescue to Sweet Dream Teddy ... They made friends right away ;-)

And they were happy for ever after ...

Tuesday Tune 10/26/2010

So yesterday I had one of those day !!!

Monday I got assigned to cover for a coworker's route ...
Which in it's own isn't big of a deal !!!
But, it just happen that I didn't know this particular one ...

I was in for one LONG day !!!

So, not only I wasn't familiar with all those accounts but the order in which they were lined up on the worksheet wasn't efficient at all ...
I was wasting time at each places orientating myself, looking for water sources and where the plants were located ...
I was sent to all four corners of town with no logical order through traffic ...
To top it all, the one account that was the odd one on the map, the farthest away from the whole group and the trickiest to find happened to be a newly canceled location !!!

No really ???
It was supposed to be a day off ... a FULL day off too !!!
I usually work from 7am to 1:30pm ... It was 4:30pm by the time I was done !!!

Needless to say that frustration was to it's pick !!!

So for this day ... Here is my tune ;-)

"ER tune" :: Miscellaneous Wednesday

Where did Tuesday Tune 20/19/2010 go you might have ask !?!?!? (well, I can dream of followers liking and caring about this blog !!!)

The truth is my HUBBY hasn't been feeling right and I had to attend to him (as well as publishing a post on my other blog) which took quite some work and time ...
The trouble -a VERY bad nose bleed- brought us straight to the ER this morning !!!

My HUBBY hating everything associated with the word "doctor" is in for a real treat :-/

He got admitted right away ... (weight: checked, temperature: checked, blood pressure: checked, dumb questionary: answered ...)
He won the right to wear the fashionable gown ...

Now, let's the waiting game begin ... !!!

Wait 15 min for the nurse for another round of blood pressure checking, temperature and oh !!! ... something new: listening to the heart and lungs !!!
Wait for 20 min for the doc to show up for another fun game of answering the same stupid questions as previously ... and, oh !!! actually checking the trouble sinus !!!
Wait for 10 min for a nurse to come to draw blood ...

So until now, my HUBBY was taking everything VERY patiently and bravely ... The arrival of the nurse and her little caddy made him turn white and shaky as a leaf !!! Now it looked like he actually belonged to the ER: poor thing ...

It didn't help that the nurse had to go back and forth 3 times for missing items !!! First: she was missing the sample tube ... Second: ... I'm not sure what it was and the last time was to get gloves !!!
Now she was finally ready and Mr was stressed to the max ...
But luckily or should I say surprisingly, the nurse was SUPER GOOD and my HUBBY barely had time to squeeze his eyes shut and my hand tight, that all was over and the nurse gone with the precious liquid -my hand thanks the nurse for this fast and pain(full)less experience-

Well, as if it wasn't enough, we now had to wait for the blood results: really !!! ONE HOUR ... One LONG hour !!!

Thanksfully, all came up in good standing
;-)

Now we are heading to the nose specialist to figure out what caused this BIG-O drama while my traumatized HUBBY goes on and on apologizing for his winning, weakness and lack of heroism ...

So for my MAN, I dedicate this tune ...
'cause to my eyes you are the best there is: I LOVE YOU SWEETY <3 <3 <3

Now this got to be one off the cutest VW bug I've seen around !!!

The coolest part off this customized car for me is that the French nick name is "Coquecinelle" which translated in English to "Lady Bug" ...
Yet, until today, I've never seen this VW actually look like one ;-)

This year more then before, it seems to me that a lot more people, organizations and companies show their support to the breast cancer fight ... 

All this pink out there is a beauty to look at: don't you think ???

As a result, I've find it so much easier to participate too ... Without spending extra or giving a special donation ... I've still been able to contribute quite more than usual ;-) 

 And with deals like above, how can you not want to "fight for the cure" ???

Blog Hop !!! :: Miscellaneous Wednesday

Well, today I wasn't inspired :-/

For the last few nights I've not been able to sleep much !!!! I've been going to bed really late 1am for lack of feeling sleepy even though I was tired !?!?!?

So today, I didn't manage to get-up early compare to last week and I've been pretty lazy (blushing) ... I've yet to make the bed !!!

But I finally got around to scan and send important document needed in the process of registering our wedding back home in France. I also caught up on emails, FaceBook updates and was following up on the happening on the BlogFrog Communities ...

So while checking out the posts I found this Blog Hop and decided to join: it's my very FIRST participation to this activity, so I'm not sure what will come out of it ...
I see those often through out my blog reading but still don't know much about it and how it works.
I chose this one for today but know that Blue Frogs Legs initiate Blog Hop regularly and I will consider participating next time depending on what happen with this one ...

Tuesday Tune 10/12/2010

I was checking the App store for updates and while I was there I look at the new things that got released recently ...

I bumped on an App called 'SoundHound'.
It's similar to 'Shazam' so at first I didn't think much of it ... Until then, other applications didn't match 'Shazam' !!!
But still, I got curious -we never know, think change, programmation get better- and decided to read the summery.
It happened that 'SoundHound' has more features than 'Shazam' ... One of them being to find a song by singing it yourself !!!
I had to try it ... so I downloaded it ... and sang the first tune that came to mind ...

The song was one my grandma used to sing to me before she would tuck me in at night the rare time we would visite.
I thought it was just a kid song that she was sang to when herself was a kid ... but not a real title ...

So imagine my surprise when the App came up with a tittle AND an artist !!! ...

Let me tell you ... I got really emotional listening to it !!! This song is SO dear to my heart ...

Let's Do A Little Good Friday

Ok ... !!!
I guess it might have to be renamed "Let's Do A Little Good Sunday" !!!


But actually, I live by it on Fridays !!! But got to post it only on Sunday this last 2 weeks :-/


So yes, on Friday I did a little good ...
First, I made 1$ donation to help fight 'breast cancer' as I did last week, in addition of buying produces that were part of this month movement of awareness ...

Also, I set-up an automatic donation out of each paycheck for a big organization to which my 2nd job is a sponsor: United Way --> total of 2$/month all year long.
It might not be much but like Audra said in her comment on my last week post: "It's amazing what can happen when everyone gives just a little - a dollar or two. It makes a huge difference!"
